Chanel Paris Fashion Week SS18

The Chanel SS18 show was held against the backdrop of an 85-metre wall of rock, planted with trees and creepers which took nine days to construct. The models walked on a raised boardwalk above the pool at the bottom of the falls, where the volume of water was equivalent to that of a 25-metre pool. As the lights went down, Chanel's plumber opened the water faucet and the gentle cascade that greeted guests on their arrival became an indoor Niagara.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford sat front row to watch her daughter Kaia Gerber opened the show. Lagerfeld's latest collection featured chic clear plastic ponchos, hoods, scarves and capes that allow you to show off the look beneath, without getting wet. Chanel's famous quilted totes even came with their own little protective ponchos.
I maybe one of the few people in the world who isn't obsessed with Chanel. Yes, I love most of the bags and occasionally splurge on one. But, I've never been gaga over the clothes. They always seem either too ladies who lunch/country club or so chic and fashion forward that I can't imagine actually wear the clothes out in the real world other than for a special occasion. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love many of the pieces from this collection, but the reality is how can one wear the thigh high plastic boots and not look odd. I would love to see how everyday women pull this look off. Now the dresses, I would totally try and rock, likely to mixed reactions.
