Top 5 Napa Wedding Venues

· · Comments

In July I went up to Napa with my mother to tour about a dozen wedding venues. I would really love to have a shabby chic style wedding with a rustic barn and a beautiful view. Here are my top five venues.

Straus Home Ranch

Straus Home Ranch is located in Marshall, CA which is about 45 minutes away from Napa. It is a family owned working ranch with a rustic red barn and quaint white house on the property. The venue is located across the street from the ocean and is quite beautiful.

Kenwood Ranch

I was pleasantly surprised by Kenwood Ranch of Sonoma, but also so disappointed by the customer service that I unfortunately had to write off this venue. But, as a location it is beautiful shabby chic property with a red barn, bistro lights and a great indoor/outdoor venue.

Highland Estate

Highland Estate is nestled on over 21 acres in the Yorkville Highlands Valley. It has a picturesque outdoor ceremony wedding lawn and a backdrop of rolling hills and Syrah vineyards.

The Ranch at Lake Sonoma

Located 15 minutes from downtown Healdsburg, The Ranch at Lake Sonoma is a nestled in Sonoma Wine Country's largest 17,000 acre park. The Ranch overlooks Lake Sonoma and the mountains beyond and is a truly unexpected beautiful location.

Stemple Creek Ranch

Stemple Creek Ranch was the last venue we looked at and it was by far my favorite property. Nestled in the coastal hills of Northern California near the town of Tomales, Stemple Creek Ranch is a family owned working cattle ranch with over 1,000 acres. It's a magical property in a magical location.

By the end of the weekend I was so disappointed and frustrated by how expensive the cost of a wedding is and how many venues are so restrictive in what vendors you can use. Nonetheless I went into the trip with high hopes that we would find a property that was rustic and casual. Stemple Creek Ranch was everything I was looking for in a wedding venue. But, I've quickly learned they are ridiculously expensive and I personally can't justify spending tens of thousands of dollars on an event that will likely last less than four hours unless I am super rich.
